Motherhood challenge

Part of the aspect of changing the world is improving ourselves. Motherhood is my calling and I need to strive to be better at it. I have been reading Nancy Campbell's book titled The Power of Motherhood. It has been an interesting read and I have had several "light bulb" moments if you will. Today's reading was about the mother being a watch dog at home. The finally scripture quote was Song of Solomon 1:6, "They made me the keeper of the vineyards;but mine own vineyard have I not kept."
Nancy Campbell the goes on to say, " Oh what a challenge! We can so easily get caught up in busyness. We can even get caught up in the service of the Lord. But if we are looking after other vineyards and not keeping our own vineyard, we are not pleasing God. Your greatest service for God is right in your home. You must tend to your own vineyard and make sure that it is watered, cultivated and protected, before reaching out to other vineyards!"
"Did you notice that this Scriptures says, 'They made me...'? Oh how easy it is to let others cajole us into doing things, or we feel pressure from the church to be involved in this and that. We must watch that others do not make us do things that will hinder us from tending to our own vineyard first. Do not get into the deception of working in other vineyards and leave your own vineyard unprotected."
These words really got me thinking about my life, both now and in the past. I am always trying to do more or take on more and I know that it often comes from the feminist ideology ingrained in me. Motherhood alone is not taught to be satisfying, there is more I should be doing and that doing always takes me out of my home. The more I do the more my family suffers and I suffer. I always regret taking on too much. I am doing better now but I wonder if I would have had the wisdom to come to this place I am in now on my own or if I am only here because my circumstances changed. I thank God that He intervened in my life and took me to a new beginning.
In the past I have expressed interest in many things outside of motherhood. Things that Ithought were just as important as my mother hood or things that pertained to helping others in their role as mothers. I was surrounded by a few individuals who took what I said and encouraged me to do more. Even though they were Christians their advice or encouragement was not Godly Christian wisdom. They encouraged me to be more involed in serving others outside my home. This is not in and of itself wrong but was terrible timing. When a mother has little ones at home that is where she needs to be. Here time and energy needs to be at home. How can a young mom be an example to other if her own life does not reflect what she is preaching?
If I had been counseled to stay home and embrace motherhood I would not have lost so many years. Instead I took the advice of these individuals and I did too much outside my home. I pursued worldly service "In the name of the Lord" without realizing that God had already called my to motherhood and I had much to learn. I see now that although their intentions were meant well, they were in many ways using me and my desires for their own purpose and profit. I so wish now that I had had a Godly woman mentor who could have shown me the joy and beauty of fully embracing motherhood, of being satisfied at being home. I don't mean loving my children when I say motherhood, but I do mean the profession of Motherhood itself. I would give anything to go back to when I had two kids and have someone teach me the wisdom of organizing my home and my time. I would love for someone to train me how to keep my life in balance. There are so many skills I do not have that I am still struggling with trying to learn and now with 5 children I feel like I am trying to catch up. Every day feels like I am rushing and I am going to crash and burn. I wish that I had been trained better for the profession of motherhood. I love being a mom. I just regret spending so much time and energy outside my home when there was so much I could have been doing to improve my home and be better prepared to handle the blessing of a larger family. That is the wisdom I would pass on. That is the challenge even today.
I am so glad that God has freed me from my past. I am so grateful for my new beginning. I am no longer surrounded by those who would cajole me and pressure me to doing more for others. Instead I am more confident in my full time role as the keeper and watch dog of my home.

Breast Cancer Deception

My husband particularly likes to visit the website naturalnews.com Recently he read me an article by Mike Adams titled Brest Cancer Deception. While the information didn't really surprise me it did make me think about how many women out there are deceived about this particular subject. I thought I would post the link here and share it with my friends. Some may not agree with his comments but it my open their eyes to some things they hadn't thought about.

Genetically Engineered Food

So I started reading the book " Genetically Engineered Food: Changing the Nature of Nature." It is a good book although I learned much of the information while watching the documentary " The Future of Food. " If you don't already know about this subject it is well worth getting either the documentary or a book on the subject. I think as mothers we have an obligation to understand and know what is in our food and where it comes from before we feed it to our families. We are under the assumption that our food is the same as it has always been-but much of it is not. We consume corn that has been designed by man, corn that has had its DNA reconstructed by inserting a virus into the DNA of the corn. This corn is labeled an insecticide and will kill insects that eat it. Ever heard of BT corn. This corn might be in your produce section of the grocery store and you wont know it because the government does not require for genetically engineered food to be labeled to inform consumers of what they are getting. How about a tomato that has fish DNA inserted into it in order to keep it from freezing. Yum! If you are allergic to fish you might want to think twice before you buy a tomato.

What about food ownership? Does it seem right that a handful of giant corporations should patent food plants, and have exclusive rights to control our food. If you want to grow your family some vegetables in your garden you will have to pay the corporations for the right to grow their patented food. Want to save the seeds for next years garden? Sorry! The plants have a genetically engineered "terminator" gene so they will not reproduce and you'll have to pay the corporation again for seeds.
Farmers who have been growing their own variety of a particular food (like corn) and had GM corn seeds blown onto there land and mix in with their crops have been sued and paid corporations for infringing on their patent rights even though the farmer didn't intentionally plant the GM seed nor even wanted it there.
We still have no idea of the risks to our health when we ingest genetically engineered food. We could have long term health damage. Other than those who have immediate allergic reaction, there hasn't been any research to determine the safety of the food.
GM food isn't cheaper, healthier or tastier so why are we having it forced upon us without even knowing it? I think it is important that we wake up. We take action. Our food supply is being threatened and does anyone know or care? You won't hear about this stuff on your local news. CNN won't be making GM food headline news.
What can you do? Do the research get the information. Protect your family and share with just one other mom you know.

Educate

So as I have been thinking about this blog I have been convinced that a few things need to occur. The first is re-education. Individuals need to reeducate themselves on not only how to think but to re-evaluate all their held beliefs. We have been so conditioned by our Public education system, corporate controlled media and the lobotomy box in general that people have become apathetic. They don’t care! They don’t care! They Don’t Care! Why? Shouldn’t people care about their country, their homes, their families, their inalienable rights? I think so.

Since this blog is for Moms who want to make a difference, make a change. I will be talking to moms but this information is applicable to all. My hope is that Moms will come together and untie in a common goal to take back out freedoms and make an effort to change the world we live in for ourselves and for our posterity.

After education will come action. I will discuss what we can do to fight this war that is not even acknowledged. Make no mistake. There is a war going on right now and it has been going on for a long time. It is taking away your freedom right from under your nose and you don’t see it.

It is imperative that all moms learn what they can about this war, educate yourself and then take action. Don’t feel alone. I am with you. Many of you just want to know that you are not alone. Well, you are NOT alone. Together we can make a difference.

new blog

I have created this blog because there are so many areas to discuss, so many things to be discussed. I see things so differently now and i feel compelled to educate and to share with others so that we can change the direction this world is going. I hope moms everywhere are compelled to say more and do more to make their communities better. Can we make a difference? I don't know but we should at least try. If we don't even try how will we know what might have been.
